CMS Releases Readiness Review Tool for Massachusetts

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has posted a readiness review tool for the demonstration in Massachusetts.

Before anyone is enrolled in the demonstration, health plans will undergo and need to pass a detailed assessment of their readiness to implement and provide high quality care to demonstration participants.

The readiness review tool represents the universe of criteria that will be used to assess whether health plans participating in the demonstration are prepared to provide high quality care to enrollees. It will be customized for each state. California Department of Health Care Services and CMS are currently developing the readiness criteria and process for California’s demonstration.

CMS is soliciting comments on the tool from the public to shape the future development of readiness review tools for other states. You can submit comments here:  MMCOCAPSMODEL@cms.hhs.gov
