hello, can you tell me if Cal MediConnect will be a program in 2021 or is the plan to end CalMediConnect and blend it into CAL AIM? If so, what is the time frame?

    • Admin

      Hello,

Thank you for your inquiry. Cal MediConnect (CMC) has been extended until December 31, 2022, and then will transition to Dual Eligible Special Needs Plans (D-SNPs) and aligned Medi-Cal managed care plans to continue to provide coordinated care to beneficiaries. For more information about the extension please see our blog from last Spring.

As put forward by the Governor’s May Revision budget, CalAIM will not be implemented in 2021. However, the Department of Health Care Services continues to plan to expand access to integrated care for Medi-Cal members and specifically Dual Eligibles as described above.

Additionally, we recommend reviewing the state’s proposal to transition CMC and the Coordinated Care Initiative to a statewide Managed Long-Term Services and Supports (MLTSS) and D-SNP structure. Please let us know if you have additional questions.
