For Stakeholder Comment: 60-Day and 30-Day MLTSS Beneficiary Notices

The Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) is releasing two managed long term services and supports (MLTSS) notices for stakeholder comment:

  • DRAFT 60 day notice: The purpose of this notification is to inform current fee-for-service dual eligible beneficiaries, who are not eligible to enroll into a Cal MediConnect plan, that they are being enrolled into a Medi-Cal managed care plan for their Medi-Cal benefits. This notice will include information on which Medi-Cal plan they have been assigned too. This will be the second of three notices sent to these beneficiaries.
  • DRAFT 30 day notice: The purpose of this notification is to remind current fee-for-service dual eligible beneficiaries, who are not eligible to enroll into a Cal MediConnect plan, that they are being enrolled into a Medi-Cal managed care plan for their Medi-Cal benefits. This will be the final notice a beneficiary receives before being enrolled into a Medi-Cal managed care plan.

The goal of these materials is to ensure beneficiaries understand their choices.

Background

Full duals who are not eligible to enroll in Cal MediConnect, and who are currently in Medi-Cal FFS or other Medicare Advantage plans, they can enroll into a MLTSS plan starting April 2014. These beneficiaries will receive 90, 60, and 30 day notices about the program

When the content is finalized, the notice will undergo a final literacy review to ensure it is written at no more than a sixth-grade reading level. All the materials will be translated into the required Medi-Cal threshold languages, and will be available in accessible formats.
