I have been a dual user a.k.a Medi/Medi patient for almost 20 years in San Diego, and while I like the idea of the Duals program it is fraught with untrained people trying to implement this program. Just now when I called my approved specialist about an erroneous bill the person in the billing department had never HEARD of the CalDuals program. This is just the latest incident that shows the lack of training the billing administrators have provided to their billing employees.

People being passively enrolled (without their understanding and knowledge) into HMOs after over 30 years of having traditional Medicare; Healthcare Options trying to persuade patients into HMOs; Confusing letters that most don’t understand: these are just a few of the horrific realities of this program thus far and we’re only 7 weeks in. Your best bet is to opt out on the Medicare side if you want to continue receiving the healthcare coverage that you earned and deserve. Just say… “no to the HMO.”

I agree with PSYD HMO is horrible i don’t have time to be waiting for authorizations. Leave Medicare the way it has been traditional with our freedom to choose our own Doctors! not generic ones from the HMO plans.

the doctors and medimedi population have abused the system long enough. they should get the same benefits as a regular medicare beneficiary receives, no better no worse. its not fair to the rest of the middle class who does not qualify for those benefits.
